Matt as new board rep was due to represent CUOSC at the fans’ forum to be held on Monday evening. Dave Noble was expected to stand in for him at the earlier 1921 board meeting as Matt will be travelling back to Carlisle at that time.
The board considered again the potential name and branding change for CUOSC, as well as discussing a range of roles for board members on the various sub-committees. Governance, improvements, communications and membership groups will be re-established, with all board members forming part of at least one of them. Matt would continue to head up the ‘Quick Wins’ group made up of volunteer fans. They had already completed two clean-up sessions at Brunton Park, with more to come in the months ahead.
Dave Noble was allocated the role of producing the weekly News & Star column, in the wake of Malcolm Nugent stepping down from the board. His first column had already been written for this Thursday’s newspaper.
Sponsorship opportunities were discussed, including the ongoing backing of the women’s team, for which £1000 had been allocated for this season.
Membership now stood at 1,232 with £7,541.75 in the bank account.
Dan, Ross and Kieron offered to rotate the role of CUSG representative between them. Alastair continues as CUSG note taker.
Volunteers were sought to help with the food bank collection this weekend, which had been organised by the club. The collection will take place in the Study Centre near the club shop at the main entrance to the ground on Warwick Road, between 1.00 and 2.30pm.
CUOSC were helping to organise festive music for the Cheltenham game next week. A local theatre group had been contacted to perform in the Fan Zone before the game, and a pre-match Christmas playlist was being compiled from fans suggestions.
Next meeting was provisionally arranged for January 17.
