Board Meeting Summary – December 2019

Date: Wednesday, December 11, 2019
Location: Upperby Community Development Centre

There were no apologies.

Jack Oddie was formally co-opted on to the Board. Frank Beattie was appointed as Chair, and Nigel Davidson as Vice-Chair.

Jim reported that the club had not yet needed to call on EWM for further financial support. The FA Cup victory over Forest Green meant they may not be needed until at least January.

Billy updated the Board on the recent managerial appointment. There had been a unanimous acceptance by the Holdings Board of Chris Beech as the recommended appointment.

Preparations for Saturday’s members’ meeting had been made. Doors to open at 10.30am. It was to be an informal meeting, with questions invited from the floor. It was expected that questions would be asked about the ongoing succession process. We would be limited in what we could say, given the confidentiality involved.

Another food bank collection had been arranged for Saturday. Items would be accepted at the members’ meeting. Billy would again provide transportation to take the items to the food bank.

Website revamp – Alastair reported progress on the new-look site, which was being put together by himself and Richard Mullen using WordPress as the platform. It was hoped to get it online in the new year.

Jack shared some ideas with the Board for match day entertainment and possible community event for the end of the season. These would be discussed with the club and progressed.

Next meeting fixed for Wednesday, January 22 at Upperby.
